I am happy to take commissions for a few textile portraits per year, depending on the client's wishes. Ideally, I would like to meet and photograph the subject myself and to engage in a process of selection with you, over which image would be the most suitable for a final portrait. I would encourage you to supply me with fabrics for the stitched backgrounds, which hold memories or relate to the subject in some way, but am restricted to working with cotton, linen and silk. I can also include selected fabrics from my collection which reflect the character of the subject.

In order to capture the essence and personality of the subject, I think it is important that during the research phase you are actively involved in the process, as much as is possible. Through conversations with you, I hope to gain an insight into the character of the subject in order to produce a portrait that fully reflects the nature of the person.

The price will be dependent on the size of the painting and the time it will take me to complete. This will be discussed and settled following the preliminary stage of research, for which I expect 50% of the total to be paid in full.

During the process I will update you by sending images of the painting in progress in order to make sure that you are entirely happy with the finished piece.

The portrait will be framed and wrapped carefully, before sending by a fully insured courier service. The cost of delivery will be dependent on your location or may alternatively, be picked up directly from the studio.
